Measuring systens in robotics MARS15004A
Course contenpt:
Lecture:
The role and purposes of robot measuring systems. Classification of sensors used in robotics. Short briefs of selected sensors. GPS system, structure and operating principles . DAC and ADC converters – their role in measuring systems. Serial communication used in robotics based on different standards – SPI, I2C and RS232. Radio communication using Xbee modem for instance. Employing ARM microprocessor in robot measuring system.
laboratory and project:
Realization of typical measuring system applications with utilizing ZL27ARM. Acceleration and angular rate measurement using IMU sensor. Analog signal measurement using ultrasonic sensor. Implementation of GPS data reading. Implementation of remote terminal using RS232 communication. Data storage on SD card. Measurement of PWM signals.

Assessment criteria
Lecture - final exam, laboratory and project - assesment of final reports.
