Fundamentals of Variational Metthods in Structural Mechanics IS-FME-00216
Description:
Concepts of work and energy. Strain energy and complementary strain energy.
Fundamental lemma of variational calculus. Euler equations. Virtual displacements
and forces. External and internal virtual work. Natural and essential boundary
conditions. Principle of total potential energy and Castigliano's theorems. Hamilton's
principle. Static and dynamic version of the principle of virtual displacements.
Examples of deriving the equations of motion of a structural elements.
