Description:
Selected problems of fluid mechanics: Moody's diagram, calculation of ducts dimensions, fluid flow rates, velocities and pressure drops. Basics of hydraulic systems operation and description methods. Classification, constructions and applications of pumps and fans. Basic parameters and operation characteristics of pumps and fans. Pipeline characteristics, work point, regulation methods. Selection of pumps and fans for system requirements. Pumps and fans operation in parallel and series systems. Special pumps and fans. One-dimensional theory of vortex flow machines. Dynamic similarity of flow machines. Laboratory: pump performance curves determination, examination of pumps connected in parallel and in series, static pressure distribution in pipe systems, comparing of pump regulation methods, selection of pumps and fans for system requirements, pump operation in abnormal conditions.
