Description:
Characteristics of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels fossil and renewable fuels, primary and secondary fuels. Proximate and ultimate analysis of solid fuels. Biomass fuels. Selected methods for measuring the properties of fuels. Combustion reactions stoichiometric analysis of a fuel combustion. Total/net air volume required air/fuel ratio excess air factor. Energy effects of combustion gross/net calorific value. Combustion products and enthalpy of exhaust. Flame temperature. Characteristics of the combustion process of solid, liquid and gas fuels burners. Pollution emission and methods of their reduction.
Laboratory: Proximate analysis of solid fuels gross/net calorific value determination, flash point determination, examination of the combustion process in boilers.
