Biometrics - Theory and Applications (elective) IO1205b
Course content:
1) Introduction to biometrics.
2) Fundametals of digital image processing.
3) Architecture of biometric systems. Data acqusition, preprocessing, selection of features, classification.
4) Physiological characteristics: fingerprint, face, iris, palm.
5) Behavioral characteristics: handwritten signature, voice, keystroke dynamics.
6) Assessment of biometric systems.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge of biometric methods and systems and their applications.
