Sustainable Development and Civilizational Threats G06621
Course content:presentation
Human-environment relations. Environmental threat in the global and local scale. The rules of management of renewable and non-renewable resources. Civilizational threats: causes (demographic growth, technology development, military conflicts, terrorism) and effects (climate changes, ozone in the atmosphere, desertification and acquiring the characteristics of a steppe, biological diversity, air, water and pedosphere pollution). Implementations of sustainable development rules in Poland and in the World. Sustainable development indexes. Ecophilosophy and life styles. Developing ecological consciousness, ethics and education.
Learning outcomes:
Competence in proper estimation of natural resources, global environment and human activity in nature. Estimation of threats related to human activity, implementation of sustainable development rules.
