Power Systems ES2B201103
Course content: General overiew of power systems. Abnormal conditions of power system; Symmetrical and unsymmetrical faults. Per unit system and symmetrical components in power system calculations. Admittance and impedance matrixes. Mathematical models to be used in transient studies in power systems. Local, global and voltage stability. Outage analysis. Blackouts. Power system restoring. Symmetrical and unsymmetrical faults, and stability analysis thanks to software Powerfactory by DigSilent.
Learning outcomes: Students will be skilled in: (a) power system under abnormal conditions study, (b) carrying out the fault analysis under steady-state and transient conditions and (c) modern software to be applied to power system analysis.
