Components of Power Electronic Systems 1 ES1A522381
Course content:
Development and control of power semiconductor devices (fast diodes, SCR, ASCR, RTC, LTT, SITH, MCT thyristors, BJT MOSFET, IGBT, SIT transistors, intelligent power modules). Drivers and electrical isolation (transformers, opto-coupler, optoisolator ) of gate drive circuits. Protection of semiconductor devices from overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuit. Passive components: resistors, inductors, transformers and capacitors (electrolityc, metallized polypropylene, ceramic). Current and voltage measurement circuits. Serial and parallel work of semiconductor devices. Cooling of power electronics systems. Construction and service of power electronics devices. Electromagnetic compatibility of power electronics devices.
Learning outcomes:
The acquaint with basic power electronics devices and elements of different types of converters.
