Course content: Classification and description of technical materials. Shaping the structure and properties of materials. Technical ferrous alloys. Non-ferrous alloys. Non-metallic materials. Composites. Basic consumables. Materials for applications in electrical engineering. Fundamentals of heat and thermochemical treatment of alloys. Methods of materials research.
Learning outcomes: Student: classifies and characterizes basic construction materials and consumables, is able to define the overall influence of the construction and materials structure on their properties. is able to plan the selection of appropriate methods and research tools to analyze the structure and basic mechanical properties of materials
