Course content:
Topics: leisure time activities, recording telephone messages, emphasising important information, city description, organising events, texting, physical activity, global problems, outsourcing, English for Specific Purposes;
Grammar: passive voice in statements, questions, and negative sentences, narrtive tenses, modal verbs for obligation, lack of obligation, and expressing possibility, ways of presenting plans and intentions; gerunds
Learning outcomes: - the ability to communicate in English properly,
- the ability to use authentic texts at work,
- passive and active command of English at the intermediate level,
- working out the rules of grammar independently on the basis of texts,
- summarising texts,
- developing independent learning,
- developing the ability to work in a group,
- settling arguments through negotiations/compromising.
