Modelling w-2 AWIP6112
Creation of two flat compositions in the form of a relief, based on the principle of positive-negative emergence.
The compositional layout should suggest the concept of a corner or an angle in an illusory manner.
The three-part division of the plane measuring 35 x 35 cm, enriched with the different character of the texture of its individual parts, should create as far as possible illusion of a sense of inside or outside. When handling the texture of individual parts, give special attention to the way the light reflects or goes out depending on the type and nature of the texture. The determinant element is the emergence of two opposing visual situations based on the plaster cast and its negative.
Technique of execution:
- preparation of the model in plasticine or other material after selecting the texture used
- plaster cast from the model
- negative casting from a previously made positive plaster cast
The end result should be two works of the same format made of plaster using the stucco method. The quality and level of the achieved result of the performed task is to obtain the greatest possible contrast. Feelings of convexity in the first case and concavity in the second. All treatments should be based solely on the appropriate use of the texture on the plane. It is unacceptable to use the effect of a semi-complete relief.
