History of Art 2 AWIP5061
The lecture aims to present the history of modern European and Polish art, with particular emphasis on modern Polish and foreign art of the early 15th, 16th, 17th and early 18th centuries, European artistic craftsmanship, collecting and donating, and museum aspects.
Modern art will be discussed through the following sections: architecture, European and Polish painting, knowledge of the most important works of painting
and sculpture and their creators, knowledge of the ideas and other factors shaping the creation of works of art in the various stylistic eras, knowledge of the aesthetic and artistic principles of early painting and sculpture, including woodcarving, knowledge of artists' workshops, centres of production, the interdependence of architecture, painting and sculpture from other fields of study (history, architecture, music, philosophy, politics or literature).
Ancient arts and crafts will be presented according to the division that has been accepted in science into: furniture, ceramics, glass, metals, textiles, goldsmithing and varia.

Learning outcomes
Student has knowledge of the development of modern art and the interrelationships relationships and connections between particular
artistic disciplines in this era.
Student will be able to recognise a work of art and conduct a formal and stylistic.
Student will be able to recognise the ideological content of a work of art and place it in the proper context of cultural, social and ideological conditions of the modern era.
Student will be able to prepare an oral presentation of an independent assessment of an artistic phenomenon or the work of a selected artist.
Assessment criteria
Lecture - oral examination.
Exercises - paper and presentation on a selected topic.
