Urban Planning 2 - City Center AUN6006
COURSE CONTENT:
Design task: Starting with the field survey data and the individual student's pre-design analyses, develop and graphically render a design study of a chosen urban area in the city center.
Details of the task: The urban design project should refer to a spatial and functional rehabilitation of the urban area and include restoration, maintaining and creation of aesthetic, spatial, functional and cultural values of the urban tissue. The relic cultural heritage values should be focused.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
A student should be able to creatively develop any complex urban tissue in the very city center, but without disturbing its previous spatial and cultural values. A student should be also able to assess the existing values of an urban context in the city, as well as to feature and develop these values whilst acting in urban space.
