Scientific Fundations of Landscape Design AUM1045
Course content:
The fundamentals of the geology. The classification of rocks and building lands. Geomorphological processes modelling the earth's surface. The forms of terrain. Hydrological conditions in the urban areas.
The diversity of the soils. Climatic conditions in the urban areas. Non-forest ecosystems and natural habitats. The types of the lakes. The types of the wetlands and their vegetation. Grassland vegetation, meadows, pastures. Forest ecosystems and habitats. Deciduous and coniferous forests of the wetland and mineral habitats. Plant species used for the green areas.
Learning outcomes:
the knowledge of the diversity of the nature environment, understanding the relations between different elements of the landscape, the ability to adapt project design and planning for regional and local natural conditions, the ability to use sets of plant species according to the natural conditions and needs for the green areas
