Course content:
1.Dialectics of culture and nature. Spontaneous and bionic architecture vs. modern representatives of vernacular and organic trends.
2.Dialogue between cultures in architecture in Poland and in the world.
3.American school of architecture and its representatives.
4.French school of architecture and its representatives.
5.Japanese school of architecture and its representatives - metabolists.
6.English school of architecture and its representatives - brutalists, postmodernists, high-tech.
7.West-European school of architecture and its representatives.
8.Central-European school of architecture and its representatives.
Learning outcomes:
Gaining knowledge on universally recognized canons and theories in architecture and urban planning as well as artistic attitudes of esteemed architects who left their stamp on culture and have their own place in history.
